Study on composite exponential-hyperbolic normal deformation model of rock fractures

  • A parameter α was introduced into the new 3-parameter composite exponential-hyperbolic model on account of the defects of the conventional 2-parameter exponential model and BB model of the normal deformation of rock fractures.The new model got over the defects of the conventional models,i.e.exaggeration of dn under medium stress level by exponential model and contraction of dn with the low rate of approaching to dmax under medium stress level by BB model.The new model was validated by the testing data of grano diorite.And the validation showed that the simulation result from new model was superior to those from the BB model and exponential model,which provided a proof of feasibility and scientificity of the new model.
