Synthesis and structure characterization of a new type of borophosphate NaZnB3P2O10(OH)2·1.17H2O

  • A new type of borophosphate compound NaZnB3P2O10(OH)2·1.17H2O was synthesized by a cryogenic molten-salt method,and characterized by X-ray powder diffraction,thermogravimetry,and infrared spectroscopy.The results indicated that the compound had space group P63/m,a=b=1.172 72(3) nm,c=1.213 17(6) nm, γ=120°,V=1.444 91(10) nm3, and Z=6.In the optimized structure,the boron atom in a distorted BO4 tetrahedron and two BO2(OH) flat-triangle connected component B3O6(OH)2 group,ZnO6 octahedron,and PO4 tetrahedron alternate formed two-dimensional ZnP2O10 layers.NaZnB3P2O10(OH)2·1.17 H2O 3-D mesh structure was formed connecting B3O6(OH)2 group with NaO6 octahedron between layers.
