Synthesis and structure characterization of a new type of borophosphate NaZnB₃P₂O₁₀(OH)₂·1.17H₂O

Abstract

A new type of borophosphate compound NaZnB₃P₂O₁₀(OH)₂·1.17H₂O was synthesized by a cryogenic molten-salt method,and characterized by X-ray powder diffraction,thermogravimetry,and infrared spectroscopy.The results indicated that the compound had space group P6₃/m,a=b=1.172 72(3) nm,c=1.213 17(6) nm, γ=120°,V=1.444 91(10) nm³, and Z=6.In the optimized structure,the boron atom in a distorted BO₄ tetrahedron and two BO₂(OH) flat-triangle connected component B₃O₆(OH)₂ group,ZnO₆ octahedron,and PO₄ tetrahedron alternate formed two-dimensional ZnP₂O₁₀ layers.NaZnB₃P₂O₁₀(OH)₂·1.17 H₂O 3-D mesh structure was formed connecting B₃O₆(OH)₂ group with NaO₆ octahedron between layers.
