Information entropy calculation of resolution for analog-to-digital converter in measurement

  • A calculation method of analog-to-digital converter resolution based on the the average rule of information entropy was proposed according to the uncertainty of acquisition in the data acquisition and processing system of measurement instruments.The average rule of information entropy was demonstrated by the law of large numbers in probability theory, and the relationship between signal noise rate of analog-to-digital converter and analog-to-digital converter digit was analyzed. The higher signal noise rate of analog-to-digital converter, the higher the resolution of analog-to-digital converter and the more the information acquired.There was corresponding calculation relationship between them and the corresponding information entropy.The experiment proved the rationality of the method.
